New feature: GEOFENCING

We would like to tell you about a brand new version of the GoPlanner GPTime App: monitoring of employee presence through geofencing.

With geofencing GoPlanner offers an efficient and reliable way to detect the presence of employees in workplaces.

What is geofencing and how does it work?

Geofencing is a technology creating a ‘virtual geographical perimeter’ around a mobile device equipped with connectivity (mobile network, GPS, WiFi, …) or other technologies.

Thanks to GoPlanner, you can easily define relevant geographical areas such as work sites or any other places of interest.

Once the ‘authorised geographical locations‘ for clocking in have been configured, based on GPS coordinates and specifying the radius in metres, the employee will be able to clock in via the GpTime mobile phone app.

The GoPlanner system can also be set up to automatically detect the entry and exit of employees from these geographical areas.

Compared to exact localisation by GPS, localisation by geofencing allows an indication of location in compliance with the requirements of the GDPR.

Application Examples:

1. 1. Construction Companies: the location of all construction sites of a construction company can be entered into the GoPlanner system by specifying the GPS position and the size of the construction site area (e.g. by defining a radius of 150m); in this way, employees equipped with the GPTime App can automatically send in their time stamps.
   2. Smartworking: the locations of employees’ workplaces can be entered into the system, and, for example, the recording of attendance can only be authorised if the employee is close to home.
   3. Safety: in case of evacuation or emergency, people know where employees are for safety reasons.
