A good distribution structure begins with an efficient logistics organization. This is absolutely true for companies involved in goods distribution, where it’s necessary to supervise and track the employees work (by recording their attendance and activities) and coordinate work in different areas of the facility, from warehouses to offices, server rooms and vehicle access areas.
In the specific case of our client, an Italian company operating in the field of logistics, we have designed an automated access control system, combining GoPlanner Access and GoPlanner Time.
The context
Our client operates in the logistics and distribution field on behalf of a multinational company, a global leader in the industry. Hundreds of people are employed in the facilities with different shifts and roles. Without an automated personnel management system, errors in management can occur.
For security reasons too, there is a need to protect the assets in the warehouses and monitor the main access points in real-time, sometimes requiring the installation of anti-scaling sensors.
The need
The Client requested an access control system to manage employee entry to their logistics facilities and export their attendance data to a dedicated management system.
It also asked for access to some specific areas of the buildings under control at all times, requesting the installation of anti-scavenging sensors.
The solution
The system designed by our technical department was based on GoPlanner software combined with a system of physical and logical barriers. Given the need for minute control, in compliance with the GDPR rules we have provided an anti-override system equipped with 3D cameras. The devices were connected to the access control of physical barriers-turnstiles or gates and their badge readers. If the system detected unauthorized or disallowed passage (bypassing the turnstile), an alarm was generated.
For each turnstile, we have provided customized platforms to facilitate installation, cable routing and accessibility.
The outcome
The client immediately experienced a better effectiveness in controlling the access of goods and people, with positive repercussions especially in the management of employees and goods in the warehouses.
